The Importance of Repetition

Every English teacher must have ever had experience in which there were some students forgot quickly about English vocabularies (some new words given by the English teacher) and expressions (some English expressions for communication) that the teacher has explained. The students are actually able to utter the vocabularies or expressions fluently after the teacher gives the example how to say it, but unfortunately, a week later when the English teacher asks them to say it again, they seem never have the vocabularies or English expressions before.
Repetition is considered as a part of  learning language. One of the importances of repetition is that to make the students to remember English, for example English vocabularies and expressions in a long term. We must have known that the students have only English lesson in formal classroom once or twice a week. They do not only learn about English in a week, but they also think, understand, and remember other lessons. These factors may cause the students easily forget the new English vocabularies or Expressions they have just got. Thus, the more the students repeat English vocabularies and expressions, they better chance they have or remembering them.
